Keith has very generously given me plenty of space on his web site to use as a personal homepage. I've never done HTML stuff before, but he proved the excellent instructor and provided a bunch of reference material to lose myself in. This is my first shot ... rather, to be truthful, Keith did all the layout and added the pictures for the 28th and 29th, all I did was copy his examples for the 30th and added a few lines of text.

Also - apologies for the large pictures - next time I do this I'll remember to set the camera to 640x480...

Friday, Sept. 28

We watched the first Friday session from the SW stands, the second session from the SE stands (where we found Joe/Jeri Norris and Don/Katie Winch by chance..). Obviously I didn't take many photos...

I told Keith that he was in for three "intensive" days - he didn't quite understand why as it was to be three days of enjoying one of our favorite pastimes. But when the day was over I caught him (and Tim) enjoying another of those favorite pastimes...<g>

Saturday, Sept. 29

We spent the first Saturday session across from the pit exit. Amazing to see these guys barreling down the straight forever before finally braking around the 50m board. Spent the second session at Mickey and Mouse, which really is Mickey Mouse.

Keith and I watched qualifying from way up top of the final corner (Indy turn 1). From this spot we had excellent views from turns 12 and 13 continuing all the way down the staight to GP turn 1. The first garage was that used for scrutineering, seems everyone "had their turn". I think Rubens was called in three times...

I'd like to sit at this location if I get back again.

The last 8 pictures were obviously taken at Johanna's apartment during our little cookout.

Epilogue

As many of you might know, Keith and I spent a few years together in the Air Force during which we grew to be the best of friends. Everything we did was fun, ho hassles, no arguments, just a great friendship.

Well, we just spent another great weekend together and it was just the same as all of them were those 35+ years ago. Although we've both gotten a bit grayer, lost a bit of hair (well, in my case, all of it...) got older and wiser, all that stuff, I feel confident that I can speak for both of us that we have otherwise not changed a bit.

Keith - sure hope you and Beth can make it over here for Hockenheim 2003 so we can have yet another great time together, but this time on MY turf. <g>
